How to Recover After a Dream Falls Through

Just when I had a tight schedule of interviews and teaching, a big project that I as very emotionally invested in and had been working on for several months in fell apart.

And it all collapsed at the last minute when it appeared that it was a done deal. It was a shock and it was devastating to me personally.

I was emotionally distraught and I had an interview to do in 10 minutes.

I won’t go into details now, but I had 2 choices. I could totally fall apart and go into the ‘why me’ victim mode or I could take what action was available to me to repair the situation. I chose to look for ways to put the project back together if at all possible.

I’ve been working on it for the last week and it’s not something I’m able to fix, and now I’m going through a grieving period for a personal dream that isn’t going to happen right now in the way I had thought.

I have not given up on the dream though.

Now, if I was looking for an excuse to not take action on some of the things on my plate, this would be a perfectly acceptable excuse.

But I am going for my dreams 100% because I’ve created a vision for my life that’s running down the tracks like a runaway train. My life is moving forward because that’s the power of the momentum I’ve set in motion. I’ve created my life so that it’s virtually chicken-out proof unless I move to a far away land and take a vow of silence. (Me, silent?)

Wouldn’t you like to create a vision that strong for your life?
Wouldn’t it be great to have a plan that is virtually self-sabotage proof?

Could you benefit from working with a mentor who gets back up and keeps going when things get tough? If you’d like to work with me personally, email me.

I also want to let you know that the Memorial Day special discount on WBES expires at 5:00PM pacific time today. So go the the site above and grab your seat at the lowest price since 2004!

This week’s featured article comes from my observations of too many people looking for excuses for their lack of success.  Enough said.  Feel free to send it to the whiners and complainers in your life. Unfortunately it takes a lot for those
people to see themselves in anything, so you might use this to give them a nudge.

I know personally, I’m implementing a zero tolerance policy in my life and also my busienss.  Our time is too valuable and better spent than responding to those who refuse to take responsibility for themselves.

Remember to join the conversation on my blog where you’ll also find each week’s ezine posted for your comments.

Don’t Let the Cost of Airfare Stop You from Succeeding

It’s Memorial Day in the U.S. and everywhere I turn, all I see is the high price of gas and how it’s affecting airfares. I’ve even had a few emails today complaining about airfare prices.

I sent this to my training call list of 841, giving them first shot and now I’m opening it up to my loyal blog readers before I release it to my entire list of almost 14,000 people tomorrow.

So, I’m slashing the registration for Women’s Business Empowerment Summit until Thursday at 5:00PM pacific at the latest. This offer could be pulled at any time before that because this is really ridiculously cheap.

I’m effectively giving you back the cost of a normal cross country airfare of $500 as a discount off the already low early bird discount. That means that for a short time, you can grab your seat for Women’s Business Empowerment Summit in Scottsdale August 1-3rd for only $497!

There haven’t been seats priced that low since 1994!!!

No more excuses, seats are now so cheap your friends don’t have any excuse for not joining you.

So get on over to:
http://WomensBusinessEmpowermentSummit.com

You’ll be registered for our free weekly training calls and then be transferred to the page with all the details on the summit so you can register quick!

Grab your seat, email your friends to grab theirs, and all of you book your $99 hotel rooms before the whole place is sold out.

I’m done giving the html template another try so I’m putting it out of my misery. I’m so focused on my move and the training calls for WBES and all the other interviews I’m doing that I’ve let getting a new template slide.

This week’s featured article was inspired by a movie I really wish I hadn’t watched, “No Country for Old Men”.  Have you ever ordered a movie and then let it sit because you weren’t quite sure if you really wanted to see it?

Well, I let that one sit for what may have been about a month.  I started out by just looking away and then graduated to leaving the room and then to fast forwarding.  It was a little too much for me.

Anyway, besides the performances being excellent, what really stuck with me for days afterward was the coin toss.  It happened twice. And I kept thinking about what it really said about those people and human nature, so that’s our
article for today.  I hope it inspires you to click over to my log and post a comment.

I’m wondering if you’re as tired of reading this as I am of saying it, but I’m still getting ready for my move to Maui. I did some packing of the personal bookcases in my bedroom and packed my office supply closet, but until I know exactly when I’m leaving it’s hard to pack up too much more of my office.

Tuesday night I interviewed Fran Harris on how you can have a 6 or 7 figure speaking business without ever getting paid to speak for the training call series for Women’s Business Empowerment Summit and the call stopped recording while I was still doing the intro, so I’m checking to see if Fran is available to redo the call.

If you haven’t signed up for the calls yet, you’ll get the link to the call and the replays in your welcome email.  Next week I’ll be interviewing Norma Hollis on finding your authentic voice and how that leads you to wealth.

http://www.WomensBusinessEmpowermentSummit.com

The interview Rick Frishman from Planned TV Arts did with me last week is still available for replay. Call 507-726-3837 We talked about the summit and also how to discover your passion and create a blueprint for the life of your dreams.  It turned out to be a conversation I haven’t had with anyone else, so I think you’ll find it interesting.

Last night I was interviewed by Carolyn Ellis, on “Your Dream Career.” I know divorce is an issue that some of you are facing as well, so I wanted to be sure you knew about this. So if you registered for that call last week, I’m sure Carolyn will be forwarding you the replay details.

On May 27th I’ll be interviewed by Selma Santos for her series, “Honoring and Loving our Children around the World” You can get information on that call at this site:  http://instantteleseminar.com/?eventid=2962794

Remember to join the conversation on my blog where you’ll also find each week’s ezine posted for your comments.

How do you juggle all the different projects in your life?

Things are very busy for me right now.  How about you?  Spring is a time for cleaning out the old and welcoming in the new.

In the next couple weeks I have a lot going on.  I’m doing an event at my home, 2 book signings, my birthday and moving to Maui.  Did I mention I have a lot of packing to do?

I’m turning 52 and every year I wonder if this will be the last year I’m happy about how old I am. I know a lot of women my age don’t like to broadcast their age, but I look at each year as gained wisdom and a rite of passage so I like to announce it.

I feel great, I’m happy with the way I look, the way my life is unfolding and I’m excited to see what the next year will bring.  Speaking of looks, this may sound really strange, but ever since I made the decision to move to Maui, I swear lines on my face are going away.  Could it be stress relief?

I’ll let you know the locations of book signings next week so you can come and see me if you’re in AZ.

I’m holding a small closed door intensive at my house teaching people turn their passion into cash by first discovering what that is, then consciously designing the blueprint for the life of their dreams and looking at how their business fits into that plan.

If you ever wondered how I do so many things at the same time with very little help, and keep my sanity, come and join us.  I can fit a couple more people.  There’s no sales page for this because I decided to do it during a special bonus call for people who had ordered my Turning Passion Into Cash CD and I wanted it to be strictly on the basis of it resonating with you, not a sales pitch.

You can listen and then email if you’re interested:

The bonus of working one on one with me on your business for free when you register for “Women’s Business Empowerment Summit” ends Friday.

Click on the link in the side bar to register.

I know you’re thinking it’s only April and you have plenty of time, but pricing goes up and bonuses are eliminated, so grab your seat now-and your hotel room, before they’re sold out.

Creative thinking in your outdoor office

It’s a beautiful time of year in Scottsdale and I love to work outside, so I’ve created workspaces on different patios all around my back yard, from the covered patio right off my bedroom where I work early in the morning when it’s a little cool and the sun is low, to patios around the pool and my wine country patio with roses, lavender, an herb garden and a two-sided fountain under a big pine tree.

Do you have a work space that makes you feel creative and happy? If not, why not go about creating one for yourself today.

The photos promised in my ezine are on their way. I’ve tried several different ways to upload photos. I’m sure there’s an easy way, but the only way I found took up the entire blog, so help me out here. somebody leave a comment of how to put normal pictures in my blog or I’ll email my web guy.

Plant Flowers for Someone Else to Enjoy

In my personal life these days it seems like there’s a good and bad side to almost everything I’m doing. I know at some point I heard a saying about planting flowers for someone else to enjoy. That’s taken on a much deeper meaning for me this week as I planted my flowers.

This week I’ve been finishing up the last minute details of my remodel and getting ready for an open house. One of those details is planting my spring flowers and replacing what the Arizona frost killed last month.

Normally planting flowers is a very exciting time for me that I look forward to through the potential freeze season because I love to plant & I love my yard full of color. But this year is bittersweet because my Scottsdale, AZ home is for sale. Which is also a good thing and a bad thing. The good part is I’m finally moving to Maui-yeah!!! The bad part is I’m doing it while I’m getting a divorce. But then again, the divorce is really a good thing. After almost 17 years we’re parting on amicable terms.

When we left the ocean in California 3 years ago to come back to our house in Scottsdale and remodel it, I had a lot of plans, which have almost all been realized. But now that it’s finished, it will be enjoyed by someone else.

The Tuscan, wine country flagstone patio I built outside the picture window of my kitchen with a corner fountain and planter boxes filled with roses and lavender & herbs was a joy for me to take my laptop out and work from in the summer mornings. The covered patio out the French doors of the dining room was a great spot to sit on the outdoor sofa and have my morning tea even on the coldest winter mornings with the sun warming me as I watched the hummingbirds go from flower to flower.

The other flagstone patio with the chaise lounges looking over the pool was shaded in the morning by a big pine tree and on the other side protected from the summer afternoon sun by a big weeping acacia-another perfect place to sit any time of day, listening to the waterfall from the pool.

And then in the very back corner is a small patio under a big old pine tree with a bench that’s a private and quite place to sit for a totally different perspective when you just need a new idea.

Sitting, looking out the picture window of my office I have one of my 3 area with Calla Lillies and Jasmine. Just about every window and door is flanked by either Jasmine or Gardenias so the scent of flowers is always present inside and out.

So, I planted this week knowing that someone else would be spending time enjoying the flowers I so purposefully planned, as I move on to the next phase of my life. I know the buyers of my house will love all the little touches that meant so much to me. And it makes me happy to think of the joy my flowers will bring to the new owners of my home every time they look out a window or walk outside.

You’ve got to see this quick before it’s gone!
